STAFF PROFILES

Teacher Mark Tobin

Mark is a native English speaker from London, England. He began teaching with Dewey International in October 2016. Mark is experienced with teaching children of all ages. Mark has a Cambodian wife and has made Battambang his home. He is passionate about teaching and loves to see the development in children education brings.

Teacher Pio Lamo

Pio teaches primary and nursery classes. Before moving to Cambodia, he taught Psychology and English for over ten years in the Philippines and Vietnam. He has degrees in both Psychology and Education and holds a Professional Teacher’s license. Pio loves to include games in the learning process. It’s no surprise that his favorite part of teaching is being able to play with his students, both young and old.

Teacher Liliane Bergeline Meudom

Liliane is an experienced, well trained teacher with a TESOL Certificate in teaching English qualifying her to work with children and adults who are learning English as an additional language. She has taught for many years, including teaching English at several schools in Phnom Penh. Liliane really enjoys working with children of all ages and prides herself on providing a comfortable, secure learning environment. She is funny, creative and innovative and believes that students learn faster when they feel motivated by an exciting lesson. She understands the individual needs of students and how it is important to instill in them confidence with speaking the English language.

Teacher Daffodils Ranga

Daffodils was a nurse before retraining as a kindergarten teacher. She has worked in many different countries, and enjoys experiencing diverse cultures. In her free time her passions include cooking, traveling and photography. She often shares lovely photos of her students. She considers music as a great therapy and plays the guitar for class music sessions. Daffodils is very compassionate, loves teaching children, and is a hard working and flexible member of our staff team.

Teacher Flordeliza Potestas Candog

Teacher Liza has been happily living in Battambang for seven years where she has taught al levels from nursery students to university students. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Management from a well-known university in her country of origin, the Philippines. She has always loved teaching children so she made the decision to take education units and passed the exam to be a licensed teacher for secondary education, she then travelled to Cambodia to volunteer as a teacher for a religious organization. Liza has taught children in summer vacation classes in villages and volunteer staff in medical and dental missions. She is a sports-minded person and she loves to explore new places and meet people of all nationalities. Teaching is Liza’s passion. She wants all of her students to learn what will help them mold their personality to enable them to be the best people they can be. Liza’s motto in life is AIM FOR EXCELLENCE.

Teacher Maylene Tuando Moana

Teacher Maylene grew up in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Operation Management. She is married to a Cambodian and has one child. Maylene began working at Dewey Child Care House in January 2015 as one of our Preschool Teachers. She chose to work in this field because she really enjoys having interactions with children and loves seeing the children’s individual development grow. She delights in doing art projects with the children and encouraging them to be creative. Maylene says, “Having the opportunity to watch the children learn and grow is one the best parts of my job.”

Teacher Jordy Theriault

Raised in Australia and Canada, Jordy speaks English as her first language. She began teaching at Dewey Childcare House as a fresh high-school graduate in March 2017. Previously, she had worked with children through babysitting and nannying, as well as volunteering at her church nursery. Jordy enjoys helping young children in the nursery grade as they transition to structured learning that will characterize the rest of their school career.

Teacher Rohbelyn Ayog

Rohbelyn is a licensed teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education degree majoring in English at Ifugao State University, Philippines. She is happy being a part of the team of Dewey International. Rohbelyn values her learners as unique individuals. She believes that she is not just imparting knowledge but also touching the lives of her students. From her experience, she has learned that children are fun and intuitive as they work to understand their world, and she is committed to helping them as much as she can.

Teacher Samuel Brien

Samuel is from Montreal, Canada, and as well as teaching English he is one of our Music teachers. Samuel is also fluent in Khmer and French. He strives not only to help children develop their language abilities, but also to make learning enjoyable by building self-confidence and providing a positive teaching environment. His greatest wish is to help his students have a head start in reaching their dreams.
